Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am 28 years old and a May 2001 graduate of Murray State University in Kentucky, where I majored in print journalism and secondary English education.
I work as a staff writer for my hometown newspaper, covering general assignment news and feature stories. I love meeting new people and going new places, so this is ideal.
I am from the tiny community of Heath, just west of the city of Paducah, in far western Kentucky.
I am married to Paul, who graduated from Southern Illinois University in May 2004 with his master's degree in water resources geography. He teaches 7th grade in southern Illinois. He is originally from Chicago.
* Interests: reading, writing, current events, pets, genealogy, travel, geocaching, attending horse races, cooking, herb gardening, Kentucky Derby history, collecting pressed coins and official Derby mint julep glasses, staying up late, sleeping in until noon, surfing the Internet, watching the river roll by.
* Favorite authors: Piers Anthony, David Eddings, C.S. Lewis, Robert Frost, Dorothy Parker, J.K. Rowling, Nora Roberts, Teresa Medeiros.
* Favorite movies: It Happened One Night, The Wizard of Oz, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, Star Wars, The Thomas Crown Affair, Dangerous Beauty, Moulin Rouge, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Phantom of the Opera, The Lord of the Rings.
* Favorite songs: You Never Even Call Me By My Name (The Perfect Country and Western Song), Existential Blues, Alice's Restaurant, American Pie, anything by the Eagles or Jimmy Buffett, 80s rock, most country songs. I'm also a fan of American Idol.
